Out Aloud
Out Aloud is Sheffield's LGBT+ Choir. They are an open-access community choir – an important principle which means there are no auditions and members don’t need to have any musical knowledge or experience to sing in the choir. They learn by ear and don’t use written music. Anyone who identifies as part of the LGBT+ community can join. The choir started in 2006 and there are currently 82 members. I worked with a small team within the choir to work on a logo rebrand, which consisted of two concepts. The favourite was then voted in by choir members, and aims to represent joy, pride, community, belonging and be visually uplifting.
